My passion for music is absolutely divine & hereditary. Every member of my family (The Omotosos) is an avid lover of music, directly or indirectly. I had been in the children choir a number of years back, then joined the adult choir of the Foursquare Gospel Church where my dad pastored. Going fully into the music ministry has been one of my long term dreams. And I thank God it's gradually becoming a reality. I started learning & playing the keyboard at about 10 years of age. I was greatly encouraged by my dad & mum too. By God's grace I minister the word and music. And for more than three years now, i've had the privilege to minister in quite a number of churches within and outside the foursquare organization. I play the keyboard & sing simultaneously, I see myself in the nearest future in the shoes of Daddy Don Moen, Pst Chris Delvan & Minister Nathaniel Bassey. I have always prayed and believed God to open more doors for me and finally, about two months ago, while having a family vigil, the chorus of my song "Immanuel Immanuel, You are called Immanuel" kept ringing in my ears, prompted by the constant and consistent ringing, I ran to pick my phone in my room & recorded it quickly. Over the week, God began to put flesh on the bones, gradually i knew it was time to proceed and take the next step to go to the studio to record the song. I told my parents, they prayerfully agreed and in less than two weeks, the song got recorded. Three friends and I sang together.
At a point in time, I struggled within my spirit why God would ask me to use the word "celebrate" in a solemn worship song like this (Immanuel). Since celebration most of the time denotes joyful noises, shouts etc. Quickly, the Holy Spirit referred me to the dictionary for the meaning of celebrate. The first meaning goes thus : "To extol or honour in a solemn manner."
I was whaowed.! What manner of man is this Jesus.? Celebrate? Solemn?
Instantly, I knew God had a message. One of my favourite quotes has always been "We can sing from dawn to dusk, with the best instruments, best instrumentalists, best choir, the most ecstatic congregation in the world and yet not experience worship" Worship is factored by The Spirit only.
Immanuel was breathed from ""Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."" God with us.! In the deep, In the highest of the highests, in riches, even in trials, He always is with us.
This song is birthed to make people realize that no matter what comes their way, they have Jesus, they have everything.
My special appreciation goes to the Almighty Elshaddai God for making this a possibility. My gratitude also goes to my parents ,Pastors Bayo&Motun Omotoso and the family of Deaconess Taiwo for their unflinching support, Foursquare Students Fellowship Moor plantation, Poly-Ibd & U.I chapter, my back ups: Grace, Paise & AyanfeJesu, God bless Sam_zach productions.
Remain blessed.
